MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin says it has “credible information” that Miami and Xavier Lucas made impermissible contact with each other before the former Badgers cornerback decided to transfer to his home-state school. The Hurricanes found their new defensive coordinator. Minnesota defensive coordinator Corey Hetherman is in line to take the same position at Miami, according to multiple reports. Hetherman replaces Lance Guidry, who Miami fired in December.  Hetherman spent only one season as the Gophers’ defensive coordinator, but his was one of the nation’s best. The trend for star college players looking for a big NFL payday in recent years has been to opt out of non-playoff bowl games. Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward appears to be bucking that trend.
