Overstimulation could push us to our current emotional limits. While the frenetic Gemini Moon trines optimistic Venus, we might take on more than we’re equipped to handle. As Luna goes on to square overwhelming Neptune, we may realize we’ve gotten in over our heads. The last thing we need is criticism, but that’s exactly what we’re likely to get when the Moon opposes fussbudget Mercury at 8:03 pm EST. Once people are already upset, fighting probably won’t be productive — backing away is better.

The Miami Hurricanes will need a new starting quarterback in 2024.
Incumbent starter Tyler Van Dyke is entering the transfer portal, a source told the South Florida Sun Sentinel, ending a UM career that spawned high expectations and low moments.
“I want to thank the University of Miami, my teammates, coaching staff, and everyone associated with the university who have made this chapter in my life truly special and invaluable,” Van Dyke wrote in a post on social media. “I have created lifelong friendships and memories, which I will always cherish. I am deeply appreciative of the opportunities...
The Miami Dolphins were expected to add a pass rusher after Jaelan Phillips’ season-ending Achilles tear.
It appears that addition will come in the form of veteran Jason Pierre-Paul, a three-time Pro Bowler, two-time Super Bowl champion and South Florida native.
Pierre-Paul, currently a member of the New Orleans Saints’ practice squad, is reportedly expected to sign with the Dolphins’ active roster, according to NFL Network on Monday night. He later posted, in part, on Instagram: “I’M COMING HOME,” with a dolphin emoji.
Pierre-Paul, who turns 35 on Jan. 1, has 94 1/2 career sacks in 180 NFL...
UCF guard Jaylin Sellers scored a career-high 34 points, but it wasn’t enough as the Knights dropped a home contest Sunday against Stetson, 85-82.
Sellers was 12-of-16 from the floor with 8 rebounds and 2 assists.
Stetson’s Jalen Blackmon had 26 points, connecting on six 3-pointers, while Stephan Swanson added 19 points.
UCF (4-2, 0-0 Big 12) was fresh off claiming the championship in the Jacksonville Classic after defeating South Dakota State (83-80) and Charlotte (74-71 OT) last week.
“We got up by 13 in the first half and when we’re up like that, we have to learn to build off that lead,”...
GAINESVILLE — Florida football’s 24-15 flop against unbeaten Florida State followed a familiar, tired script.
Coach Billy Napier’s squad staked a 12-0 lead as a sellout crowd at the Swamp rattled backup quarterback Tate Rodemaker on Saturday night. But the Gators (5-7) stumbled down the stretch as penalties, offensive ineptitude and special-teams miscues sent UF to its fourth straight loss after leading during the second half to end 2023 on a five-game skid.
“We didn’t have the season we wanted to have,” linebacker Teradja Mitchell said. “When it was needed, we didn’t execute.”
Here are three...
A young Margate man has been identified by the Broward Sheriff’s Office as the person who was shot to death in Tamarac the night before Thanksgiving. Homicide detectives are still looking for the assailant.
Mateo Delgado, 21, was found by deputies late Wednesday evening suffering from a gunshot wound after a 911 call about shots fired near the 7000 block of Northwest 79th Avenue, just west of University Drive, the sheriff’s office said in a statement. The incident occurred outside a gate of the Bonaire Woodmont residential community.
Paramedics from Tamarac Fire Rescue pronounced Delgado dead...

Questioning our assumptions could be both stressful and rewarding today. When the practical Taurus Moon meets groundbreaking Uranus, we can notice possibilities that are totally new to us but also relatively realistic. That being said, as idealistic Venus challenges Uranus at 10:49 am EST, what flows naturally will probably be a bit different from how we thought things were supposed to work. After the Moon shifts into cerebral Gemini and opposes bombastic Mars, we may begin to draw connections that contradict our beliefs.

NEW YORK — Observations and other notes of interest from Saturday night’s 112-97 loss to the Brooklyn Nets:
– If not for a pair of blown 21-point leads, this could have been a 4-1 trip.
– Instead, 2-3.
– But there still is upside.
– With Saturday closing the Heat’s opening run of 12 of 17 on the road, 10-7 hardly is the worst outcome.
– Yes, some got away.
– But this wasn’t in that category.
– This was making sure Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo were right for what comes next.
– An actual homestand.
– No, the competition over these first 17 hardly was overwhelming, but the travel was.
– So rest,...
NEW YORK – What does it look like without any of your top four scorers?
For the Miami Heat, it looked like Saturday night’s 112-97 loss to the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center.
Playing in the injury absences of Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro and Duncan Robinson, the Heat performed like a bunch of imperfect strangers, closing with 18 turnovers, the most by a Nets opponent this season, and lacking a consistent source of offense other than the 22 points provided forward Caleb Martin and the from by rookie wing Jaime Jaquez Jr.
The Heat also got eight points and a season-high-tying 10 rebounds...
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Miami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert didn’t plan on looking at the halftime stats. But he couldn’t avoid it. The stat sheet was right there when he went into the locker room.
It showed eight carries for 15 yards.
Those meager totals didn’t last much longer.
The “finesse” Dolphins (8-3) played big-boy football for the second consecutive week, getting physical on both sides of the ball while playing complementary football.
Miami’s efforts resulted in a 34-13 victory over the struggling New York Jets (4-7) at MetLife Stadium and showed the Dolphins are capable of...
