Why Some Homes Sell Quickly – and Others Don’t Sell at All

A few years ago, inventory hit a record low. Just about anything sold – and fast. But now, there are far more homes on the market. Listings are up almost 20% from this time last year. And in some areas, supply is even back to levels we last saw in 2017–2019. For sellers, that means one thing:Your house needs to stand out and grab attention from day one. That’s especially true when you consider why the number of homes for sale is up. Here’s how it works. Available inventory is a mix of: Active Listings: homes that have been sitting on the market, but haven’t sold yetNew Listings: homes that...

Winderman’s view: Jaquez again an example of efficient versatility in Heat victory

MIAMI – Observations and other notes of interest from Sunday night’s 115-107 victory over the New York Knicks: – This Jaime Jaquez Jr. thing is real. – Cast one moment Sunday at power forward. – Another at point guard. – Versatility on demand. – And efficient versatility. – He has made it very easy at the start of this season to forget who he is not. – (Enough about the 3s.) – (And enough about the comparisons to Jimmy Butler.) – He has made it about what he stands as. – An embraceable attacking presence. – The very type of energy this roster and this system needs. – Of all the factors in...

Heat race to 115-107 victory over Knicks in home opener behind Powell’s 29

MIAMI — The brutal opening schedule for the Miami Heat? So far more than under control. First a competitive loss in Orlando. Then a record-setting blowout victory in Memphis. And then Sunday at Kaseya Center, a 115-107 smackdown of the rival New York Knicks in the home opener. At 2-1 with the Charlotte Hornets up next at home on Tuesday night, the Heat continue to evolve with their running game even as they play in the absence of sidelined All-Star guard Tyler Herro. “There was a competitive spirit from our guys,” coach Erik Spoelstra. “Guys are fulling committing to that, our collective...

Chris Perkins: Dolphins’ run defense made plays, and good things followed

ATLANTA — If you knew a few days ago that one team, either the Miami Dolphins or Atlanta Falcons, would rush for 141 yards and that same team would hold its opponent to 45 yards rushing you’d have bet every dollar you had that it’d have been the Falcons producing the good statistics. But it wasn’t the Falcons that did the damage Sunday, it was the Dolphins. Stopping the run was absolutely huge. Stopping the run led to the Dolphins playing their best game of the season in a 34-10 blowout win over the Falcons. “Monumental,” is how coach Mike McDaniel described that aspect of the game. ...

Mark Fletcher Jr. scores three times in third quarter as No. 9 Hurricanes pull away from Stanford

MIAMI GARDENS — The Hurricanes’ run game had been sleepy the last two games. Mark Fletcher Jr. woke it up. The junior running back rushed for 106 yards and a career-high three touchdowns to lead the No. 9 Hurricanes (6-1, 2-1 ACC) to a 42-7 win over Stanford (3-5, 2-3 ACC) at Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday. Miami got off to a slow start in the win, looking less like the team that won its first five games and more like the one that lost to Louisville last week. The Hurricanes moved down the field on their first drive, but Carter Davis missed a field goal at the end. Stanford got on the board...

Winderman’s view: Heat go big, but also learn big things about rotation in rout of Grizzlies

MEMPHIS – Observations and other notes of interest from Friday night’s 146-114 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies: – This wasn’t as much about a really big thing as it appeared at the outset. – Yes, Kel’el Ware was in the starting lineup alongside Bam Adebayo. – And, yes, that had Nikola Jovic playing off the bench. – But what it did was balance the rotation. – Davion Mitchell has proven a capable playmaker with the first unit. – But Dru Smith isn’t that with the second unit. – This way, Jovic gets to orchestrate, without also having to be deferential to Adebayo. – Remember, this all will...
