Let me say this right away: The Miami Dolphins’ offensive problems, as I’ve told you before, are bigger than quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. The offensive problems are systemic and institutional.
Having said that, it’s tough to know where to start when analyzing the Dolphins’ feckless 16-10 loss at Indianapolis.
Do you start with the fact that the Dolphins are mysteriously unable to get the ball to wide receiver Tyreek Hill, and because of that, predictably, their one-dimensional offense is stuck in the mud?
Do you start with the fact that the Dolphins erroneously and ridiculously thought they...

Who has the edge? Dolphins at Colts, in fourth game without Tua
Here’s a look at how the Miami Dolphins (2-3) and Indianapolis Colts (3-3) match up in six key areas ahead of Sunday’s Week 7 game at Lucas Oil Stadium (1 p.m., FOX):
When the Dolphins run: The Miami run game finally got going in its last game against the New England Patriots. That was without speedster De’Von Achane for much of the afternoon, exiting early with concussion. Luckily, the Dolphins had Raheem Mostert back for the first time in three games. He and Jaylen Wright combined for 166 yards in something the Dolphins should stick with now against the Colts’ 31st-ranked run defense....
Chris Perkins: Dolphins’ Brandon Pili has the right mindset for the opportunity he faces
MIAMI GARDENS — There are a lot of interesting things I could tell you about Dolphins defensive tackle Brandon Pili.
You probably already know that he’s 6 feet 3, 319 pounds, a second-year undrafted player from USC who hails from Alaska, and he grew up in Barrow, Alaska, America’s northernmost town, a town that’s north of the Arctic Circle.
He got my attention in training camp when he talked about the joy he gets out of beating a double-team.
As an old-school football guy, I love that mindset. I love that attitude. I love hearing an interior defensive lineman talk in that fashion.
Pili,...
Dolphins Deep Dive: What should Miami’s 2025 QB plan be? | VIDEO
In this Dolphins Deep Dive video, the South Florida Sun Sentinel’s Chris Perkins and Dave Hyde discuss what Miami needs to do to shore up its quarterback room in 2025 to avoid a repeat of this season where there was no reliable option behind starter Tua Tagovailoa.

Chris Perkins: Finally! The finesse Dolphins ran the ball, got physical with Patriots, and won
Sometimes old-fashioned muscle and physicality are needed to win NFL games, even in this current highfalutin passing era. And sometimes, we’ve now learned, the Miami Dolphins can play that style of football.
We saw a new, angry side of the Dolphins’ in Sunday’s 15-10 victory at the New England Patriots.
We saw coach Mike McDaniel’s good-natured, mild-mannered team dig deep to re-discover its animalistic nature.
This is significant.
The Dolphins (2-3) used a gutty, fourth-quarter, 15-play, 80-yard touchdown drive that was fueled by 10 punishing carries for 60 image-changing yards to take...
Top Dolphins-Patriots prop bet predictions from Chris Perkins, David Furones
MIAMI GARDENS — The South Florida Sun Sentinel’s Miami Dolphins writers are picking out a pair of prop bets each week in the 2024 season.
Dolphins columnist Chris Perkins and Dolphins reporter David Furones, neither of whom condone gambling, will make predictions on player props they believe will occur for every Dolphins matchup.
Each writer will offer their “Best Bet,” a near 50-50 proposition they believe will occur, and a “Longshot,” which has to be given betting odds of at least +300, or 3-to-1 probability.
Odds are according to the Hard Rock Bet app. Also make sure to check out the Sun...

By JOSH DUBOW
Four former Miami Dolphins are are among the players who advanced to the next stage in the Seniors category for the 2025 Pro Football Hall of Fame class.
The Hall released a list of 60 players Thursday who remained from the original list of 183 nominees made last month by a newly created Seniors Screening Committee, and among those advancing were three Dolphins championship-era stalwarts, versatile offensive lineman Bob Kuechenberg, defensive end Bill Stanfill and safety Dick Anderson, and one of the Dan Marino-era Marks Brothers, Mark Clayton.
A nine-person Senior Blue Ribbon...
Who has the edge? Dolphins at Patriots in battle of South Florida QBs
Here’s a look at how the Miami Dolphins (1-3) and New England Patriots (1-3) match up in six key areas ahead of Sunday’s Week 5 game at Gillette Stadium (1 p.m., FOX):
When the Dolphins run: It feels like Miami has been leaving much on the table in the run game, especially when this team could stand to benefit from being effective on the ground while it plays without quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. The Dolphins averaged 3.5 yards per carry in Monday night’s loss to the Tennessee Titans, with De’Von Achane getting just 1.5 yards per attempt with 15 yards on 10 carries.
Rookie Jaylen Wright saw a...
What we learned in Miami Dolphins’ 31-12 loss to the Tennessee Titans
MIAMI GARDENS — It was an ugly showing for the Miami Dolphins in Monday’s 31-12 drubbing by the Tennessee Titans. The offense was abysmal, and its architect, coach Mike McDaniel, wasn’t much better.
Quarterback Tyler “Snoop” Huntley didn’t have a good night, and speedy wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle were non-factors.
Fans booed the home team because its overall performance was so bad.
The Dolphins (1-3) need to get this figured out before hitting the road for next week’s game at New England.
Here are the top takeaways from another Miami debacle:
Snoop Huntley has little effect...
