Looking at the big picture may be more crucial than ever. As the passionate Sagittarius Moon challenges the detail-oriented Virgo Sun, addressing an accumulation of emotional tension will probably require us to remove our noses from the grindstone. Analytical Mercury then soothes melancholy Chiron at 3:44 pm EDT, helping us put our grievances into words. Luna goes on to support dynamic Mars, energizing us to take action if needed. Still, a whole lot of listening might have to happen before we know what to do.

Marlins score nine runs, and lose by 10 to Mets
By LARRY FLEISHER
NEW YORK (AP) — Jonah Tong allowed one earned run in five innings in his major league debut and the New York Mets hit six homers and set a franchise record for runs in a home game in a 19-9 victory over the Miami Marlins on Friday night.
Tong (1-0) received a standing ovation from the sellout crowd of 42,112 when he took the mound for a six-pitch first inning. The 22-year-old Canadian right-hander had a 5-0 lead when he returned for the second, and the Mets made it 12-0 in the bottom of the inning.
With an over-the-top delivery that has drawn comparisons to Tim Lincecum,...

State now orders Fort Lauderdale to remove even more street art designs
Two days after Fort Lauderdale agreed to fight a state order to remove a rainbow pride flag and three other artsy designs painted on a local street, the state fired off a letter listing seven more sites that need to be removed.
The letter, sent Friday at 6:32 p.m. and signed by Florida Department of Transportation District Secretary Steven Braun, gives the city a hearing date of Sept. 15 to make its case for keeping the street art, but warns there will be no change of heart.
Fort Lauderdale Commissioner Steve Glassman suggested the state find better things to do than crack down on street...
Quarterback DJ Lagway is healthy, back just in time for No. 15 Gators’ season opener
GAINESVILLE — Florida quarterback DJ Lagway’s last public appearance in the Swamp was ceremonial and somewhat confusing.
Limited by an ailing right shoulder, Lagway handled the opening snap of April 12 spring game, handed off the ball and then exited the game — a process he’d repeat to open several series without making a pass.
Casual fans were reminded Lagway was injured, if they were even aware. Ardent fans were left to speculate on the future of the Freshman All-American, who expended more energy signing autographs after the game than participating in it.
Those uncertain times,...
Marlins capitalize on Mets’ errors in 7-4 win
Costly errors by first baseman Pete Alonso and left fielder Brandon Nimmo helped the Miami Marlins score three unearned runs in the seventh inning of a 7-4 victory Thursday night over the sloppy New York Mets.
Nimmo hit a two-run double in the first and Alonso launched a two-run homer in the fifth, tying it 4 with his 30th longball this season. But the Mets made three errors in all that led to five unearned runs, halting their momentum following a three-game sweep of NL East-leading Philadelphia.
New York fell five games behind the Phillies, who routed Atlanta 19-4 at home, with 28...
Nerves and pressure get to Coco Gauff at the US Open before she wins again
By HOWARD FENDRICH
NEW YORK (AP) — This would not have been easy for anyone, and it was not easy for Coco Gauff. She is aware of the expectations of others. She has her own expectations, too, of course.
An exit in the second round of the U.S. Open on Thursday night simply would not do. And double-faulting her way to defeat might just be the worst possible scenario. So after she missed two consecutive serves to get broken and fall behind in the opening set against Donna Vekic in Arthur Ashe Stadium, Gauff felt overwhelmed and couldn’t hide it.
The tears came. They wouldn’t stop. She...
Fort Lauderdale to fight state order to remove rainbow street art
Fort Lauderdale will not bow down to the state’s demand that it remove four street art designs — including a rainbow-colored pride flag painted on a street near the beach.
Before a packed house, commissioners voted unanimously Wednesday night to appeal the state’s order to remove the pavement art by Sept. 4 or risk the state removing it.
Mayor Dean Trantalis warned of what might happen if the city were to back down to the state on what he called a draconian order.
“You have to ask, where does it end?” he said. “Tonight we must stand our ground. We cannot be bullied into submission and to...

General Daily Insight for August 28, 2025
Emotional release is feasible at this time. As the volatile Scorpio Moon occupies the tense midpoint between passionate Venus and power-hungry Pluto, we may not be able to hold back our feelings any longer. Thankfully, today’s drama probably won’t last forever. As futuristic Uranus sextiles visionary Neptune at 8:09 pm EDT, a positive path forward could come into view. Clearing the air might help us see what’s really going on, so we shouldn’t try to suppress confrontations that are potentially productive.

Louisiana urges Supreme Court to bar use of race in redistricting, in attack on Voting Rights Act
By MARK SHERMAN
WASHINGTON (AP) — Louisiana on Wednesday abandoned its defense of a political map that elected two Black members of Congress and instead called on the Supreme Court to reject any consideration of race in redistricting in a case that could bring major changes to the Voting Rights Act.
