Three residents displaced after smoke engulfs Deerfield Beach home

Three people were displaced from their Deerfield Beach home after it was damaged by smoke from a fire on Sunday morning. Broward Sheriff’s Office Fire Rescue crews responded at about 6 a.m. to a 911 call about a house fire at 181 SW 2nd Court, according to a news release from the agency. Billy Cypress, longest-serving chairman and leader of Miccosukee Tribe, dies at 74

Billy Cypress, who was the longest-serving Chairman of the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida, has died. He spent decades advocating for tribal sovereignty and environmental protection of their land. Cypress was first elected to the Miccosukee Business Council in 1973, serving for over a decade before being elected Chairman. He held the office for over 26 years. Plane crashes at South Korean airport, with at least 23 deaths reported

A passenger plane carrying 181 people on board crashed while landing in an airport in southwestern South Korea on Sunday, killing at least 23 people, officials said. The passenger plane operated by South Korea’s Jeju Air was landing in Muan International Airport when it veered off the runway, local fire department officials said.
