An off-duty Fort Lauderdale Police officer shot and killed a man at an RV park marina after the property manager asked him to handle a disturbance Wednesday night, the department said. The property manager of Yacht Haven Park & Marina, at 2323 State Road 84, directly notified Lt. Jonathan Bohm about a man at the property who was creating a disturbance, spokesperson Casey Liening said in a news release Thursday night. Woman killed in Oakland Park hit-and-run crash, deputies say

A woman was killed Wednesday night in a hit-and-run crash in Oakland Park, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said. Oakland Park Fire Rescue and deputies found the woman shortly before 8 p.m. in the area of Northwest 38th Street and Powerline Road. She was pronounced dead there, the Sheriff’s Office said. The Sheriff’s Office did not provide further information. This past week’s cold snap — with images of snow in north Florida — has stirred memories of that moment decades ago when South Florida itself experienced a rare snow show. Six victims in Boynton Beach shooting identified; one dead, two remain hospitalized

Two of the six people who were shot during an altercation at a gathering in Boynton Beach early Sunday morning remain hospitalized, officials said. Officers were called to the 500 block of Northeast Second Street about 1:40 a.m. Sunday, where they found five people who had been shot. An inmate serving 14 years in state prison for second-degree murder faces new charges of threatening the Palm Beach County judge who signed off on his plea agreement. Roosevelt F. Sifford, 24, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and burglary in February 2021, in the May 2018 shooting of Carlos Gardel Dacosta, 52, at his home in West Boca, court records show.
