Margate man identified as victim of fatal pre-Thanksgiving shooting in Tamarac as detectives seek a suspect

A young Margate man has been identified by the Broward Sheriff’s Office as the person who was shot to death in Tamarac the night before Thanksgiving. Homicide detectives are still looking for the assailant. Mateo Delgado, 21, was found by deputies late Wednesday evening suffering from a gunshot wound after a 911 call about shots fired near the 7000 block of Northwest 79th Avenue, just west of University Drive, the sheriff’s office said in a statement.
