The Hurricanes missed out on five-star defensive back D.J. Pickett earlier this week when the touted prospect chose LSU over UM.
Miami got the better of LSU on Saturday, though, securing a commitment from four-star defensive back Jaboree Antoine. Antoine announced his commitment through On3’s YouTube channel.
“rEALLY IT came down to a late decision, really,” Antoine said. “I just had a lot of questions I had to get answered. It came down to really yesterday. … (Miami) was unmatchable, really.”
Antoine said he informed Mario Cristobal and the UM staff Friday that he would take his talents to...
UF’s Billy Napier and Gators ignore the noise at SEC Media Days
DALLAS — Besides taking on college football’s toughest schedule, Florida faces one of the sport’s tallest orders: secure coach Billy Napier’s future with the Gators.
SEC Media Days in the Lone Star State spotlighted the looming challenge and the third-year coach’s job security — a common theme back home.
“When you’re on social media 24/7 … you see it,” quarterback Graham Mertz said. “You can’t help but not see it.”
But Napier and the Gators are not listening to the nay-sayers following a 5-7 season that ended on a five-game skid leading to sweeping offseason changes to UF’s staff and...
Hurricanes miss out on five-star defensive back D.J. Pickett
The Hurricanes have had a strong summer on the recruiting trail, but they could not land one of their top targets.
Five-star defensive back D.J. Pickett committed to LSU, choosing the Tigers over offers from Miami, Georgia and Oregon, among others. He announced his decision on his Instagram account.
Pickett, a 6-foot-4, 178-pound star for Zephyrhills High outside of Tampa, is listed as the No. 2 cornerback and No. 6 player in the 2025 class by 247Sports’ composite rankings. He is also rated the top prospect in Florida.
Pickett had 52 catches for 1,033 yards and 15 touchdowns on offense last...
Former Gators RB Trevor Etienne helps ‘juice’ rival Georgia’s attack
DALLAS — Georgia defender Mykel Williams fielded questions Tuesday at SEC Media Days with his game face firmly in place.
But when tailback Trevor Etienne entered the conversation, the menacing pass rusher broke into the wide, knowing grin.
Asked what the Florida transfer brings the Bulldogs, Williams simply said, “Juice” — and laughed.
Etienne’s addition energized a program seeking some new playmakers on offense.
While his impact has yet to be felt on Saturdays in Athens, his departure was an offseason gut punch in Gainesville.
UF’s most explosive playmaker down the stretch could now be its...

The Old Miss football program announced on the social media platform X that Kiffin, once the head coach at North Carolina State, died surrounded by family and friends in...
Knights get 2025 commitment from 4-star West Palm receiver

The 6-foot-2, 185-pounder becomes the 12th commitment the Knights have received for their 2025 recruiting class.
A highly touted prospect out of West Palm, Charles originally pledged to Miami on Sept. 10, 2023, but de-committed on May 30.
He also had offers from schools such as Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Tennessee and Michigan.
Charles was a dual threat at Palm Beach Central High School, playing receiver and strong safety....
Wizards land UM’s Kyshawn George, picked 24th in NBA draft, in trade with Knicks
Kyshawn George did not spend much time in a Miami Hurricanes uniform, but he showed NBA scouts enough for them to take him in the first round of this year’s draft.
The New York Knicks selected Kyshawn George with the 24th pick on Wednesday night, and they are trading him to the Washington Wizards, according to multiple reports. He is the first Miami player picked in the first round since the Spurs selected Lonnie Walker IV in 2018. George is the sixth first-round pick in UM history.
George, a Switzerland native, was a three-star prospect after playing in France. He arrived at Miami for his...
Gators receive commitment from West Broward WR Joshua Moore
GAINESVILLE — Florida commit Joshua Moore of West Broward gave the Gators a big win against their in-state rivals in a key recruiting hotbed.
Moore announced his intentions Wednesday to sign with coach Billy Napier’s program instead of Florida State and Miami, despite his South Florida ties and the proximity of Pembroke Pines to the Hurricanes’ Coral Gables campus.
The 6-foot-4, 205-pound Moore offers prototypical size and top-end production, totaling 100 catches for 1,869 yards and 20 touchdowns the past two seasons, according to MaxPreps. He is the nation’s 25th-rated receiver and No. 197...
Miami Hurricanes’ Class of 2025 run continues with commitment from Miami Central safety
For a third straight day, the Hurricanes added a player to their 2025 class. This time, the player is a top South Florida standout.
Miami Central safety Amari Wallace committed to Miami, announcing his decision on social media.
Wallace chose UM over offers from Alabama, Auburn, and LSU, among others.
Wallace, a four-star prospect in 247Sports’ composite ranking, is listed as the No. 24 safety and No. 278 player in the class.
The Rockets standout had 28 tackles and a team-best three interceptions. He was teammates with Miami freshman Armondo Blount last year.
Wallace is the second defensive...
UF slugger Jac Caglianone breaks Gators’ home run record
UF slugger Jac Caglianone took a unique path to the Gators’ home run record, but nothing was going to stop him during a College World Series elimination game Wednesday with Kentucky.
Coach Kevin O’Sullivan had the 6-foot-5, 250-pound Caglianone bat leadoff for the first time in his career to pressure the Wildcats and force them to pitch to him. He responded with a single, followed by a stolen base — only the fourth of his career — to set the stage for the Gators’ 7-run opening inning.
“I was kind of the lead-off guy that everybody wanted me to be,” he said. “I kind of embraced that role...
