Driver injured in possible road rage shooting on I-95 in Broward

A driver was met with a spray of bullets while merging onto Interstate 95 in Oakland Park during Friday morning rush hour, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

A little before 9 a.m., FHP received a call about a “possible road rage incident resulting in a shooting,” according to a media release. The driver was merging onto the highway from Oakland Park Boulevard in a gray Chevy, heading north, when a person inside a black Honda Civic with a temporary license plate shot at the Chevy multiple times, hitting the passenger side. The shooter then fled.

The driver survived largely unscathed, but had minor injuries from the glass the bullets shattered, the release said. The release did not provide the driver’s age or gender.

Florida Highway Patrol is investigating. Anyone with information should contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS or submit a tip through the SaferWatch App.
