Hurricanes flip blue-chip defensive lineman Elias Rudolph from Michigan
The Hurricanes and defensive line coach Jason Taylor tried to land defensive end Elias Rudolph before he committed in July, but Michigan was the blue-chip prospect’s preferred destination.
But now Rudolph has changed his mind. The four-star defensive end flipped from Michigan to Miami on Saturday night, announcing his decision on social media. His commitment comes just one day after the Hurricanes landed their first 2025 commit, quarterback Luke Nickel.
Rudolph, who plays for Taft High in Cincinnati, is rated the No. 21 edge rusher and No. 292 player in the 2024 class. He is listed at 6-4 and 205 pounds.
Rudolph is the fourth defensive lineman to join Miami’s 2024 class. The Hurricanes already secured commitments from four-star defensive linemen Artavius Jones and Marquise Lightfoot as well as three-star lineman Daylen Russell.
