Hurricanes flip defensive lineman Cole McConathy II from Louisville
Three days before facing Louisville on the field, the Miami Hurricanes scored a win against the Cardinals off the field.
Miami flipped three-star defensive lineman Cole McConathy II from Louisville, with the 2024 prospect announcing his decision on social media.
McConathy had been committed to the Cardinals since July. He also held offers from Colorado, Cincinnati and Missouri, among others.
McConathy is listed as the No. 74 edge rusher and No. 1,085 player in the 2024 class by 247Sports’ composite rankings. He is having a strong senior season, racking up 102 tackles, 30 tackles for loss and 19 sacks for Spanish Fort (Alabama) High.
McConathy is listed at 6 foot 5 and 225 pounds. His father, Adam McConathy, played linebacker at Louisiana Tech.
McConathy is the sixth defensive lineman in UM’s 2024 class, joining Marquise Lightfoot, Artavius Jones, Booker Pickett Jr., Elias Rudolph and Daylen Russell.
