SUNRISE — Noah Cates scored the go-ahead goal 2:36 into the third period, and the Philadelphia Flyers beat the Florida Panthers 2-1 on Tuesday night.
Cates’ goal was his first since Oct. 24, snapping a 22-game drought for the 25-year-old forward. He picked up a loose puck near the high slot, skated in alone and scored unassisted for what became the game-winner.
The Flyers snapped their five-game losing streak in their first game since Jan. 27 following the NHL’s All-Star break.
Travis Konecny also scored for Philadelphia, and Samuel Ersson made 20 saves.

Daws stopped 36 shots, Jesper Bratt scored for the second straight game and the New Jersey Devils snapped Florida’s nine-game winning streak by topping the Panthers 4-1 on Saturday night.

In an initial selection of 32 players (one per team) for the NHL All-Star Game, Sam Reinhart was chosen as the Florida Panthers’ representative on Thursday night.
For Reinhart, who has been on a scorching run with six goals in the Panthers’ past five games through Wednesday and has 24 goals and 45 points in the team’s 37 games overall, it is his first all-star game selection.

SUNRISE — Eetu Luostarinen scored a pair of power-play goals as the Florida Panthers defeated the Montreal Canadiens 4-1 on Saturday night, extending their winning streak to four games.
Sam Bennett and Carter Verhaeghe also scored for the Panthers, who outscored Montreal 3-0 in the third period. Anthony Stolarz finished with 18 saves for Florida.

DETROIT (AP) — Sergei Bobrovsky made 22 saves for his 39th career shutout, Steven Lorentz scored his first goal for Florida and the Panthers silenced the Detroit Red Wings 2-0 on Thursday night.
Lorentz, who was acquired in an offseason trade with San Jose, scored with 52 seconds left in the second period with an assist from Niko Mikkola.
