CORAL SPRINGS — Spencer Knight’s comeback story will continue in Charlotte, after the Florida Panthers loaned their young goaltender to the team’s AHL affiliate on Friday. Knight hasn’t played in a game that counts for Florida since Feb. 18. Saturday was not just a day of free agent signings for the Florida Panthers. They made another big move at the opening of free agency, this time via a trade. Anthony Duclair, a three-year winger with the Panthers, has been dealt to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for forward Steven Lorentz and a 2025 fifth-round pick. Matthew Tkachuk had a phenomenal first season with the Florida Panthers, but it wasn’t enough to top Edmonton’s superstar Connor McDavid. Tkachuk came up short, finishing third for the Hart Memorial Trophy at the NHL Awards Monday night in Nashville. However, he still earned an accolade as a Second All-Star Team selection.
