The Miami Dolphins, led by quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and wide receiver Tyreek Hill, were strong offensively against the Los Angeles Chargers during Sunday’s season-opening victory. Defensively, it wasn’t a great performance but it was a clutch one.

At the very end, all Tua Tagovailoa had to do was kneel down, and after everything that happened in this opener — after everything that happened the previous nine months — it must have felt as he took that knee like all his prayers were answered.
For the first time since going down with another concussion last season, he had a scoreboard to show for all his work. For the first time since returning to work last spring, the story wasn’t about ju-jitsu or why he considered retiring.
For this first Sunday, his smile gleaming at the end and his star never brighter, the Dolphins quarterback showed...
BOCA RATON — O’Shaan Allison scored on a 5-yard run in the third quarter to allow Ohio to overcome a 10-point first-half deficit and earn a 17-10 win over Florida Atlantic on Saturday night.
The Bobcats did not allow the Florida Atlantic offense to score. The Owls got a 37-yard field goal from Logan Lupo in the second quarter, and two minutes later Jarron Morris returned an interception 72 yards to put FAU on top 10-0 with five minutes left in the half.
Kurtis Rourke got Ohio on the board with a 13-yard pass to Will Kacmarek to make it 10-7 at intermission. The Bobcats marched 80 yards in nine...
FORT LAUDERDALE — With Lionel Messi out of the lineup to play in a pair of World Cup qualifiers for reigning champion Argentina, Inter Miami got two goals from Leonardo Campana and hung on to beat Sporting Kansas City 3-2 on Saturday night.
Facundo Farias added the third goal for Miami (8-14-4), which remains 14th in the Eastern Conference table, but only six points behind the team in the last playoff spot, D.C. United. However, D.C. has played two more games than Inter Miami.
The match was a test for Miami, which is 11-0-1 in cup and MLS matches since Messi’s arrival with the club. He already...
PHILADELPHIA — Kyle Schwarber hit a three-run homer and Brandon Marsh drove in three on a bases-clearing double to lead the Philadelphia Phillies to an 8-4 win over the Miami Marlins on Saturday night.
Schwarber hit his 42nd this season and his three RBIs gave him 93, one shy of his career best set last season. He led the National League a year ago with 46 homers. Schwarber may set career highs in both categories — all while his batting average hovers under .200 this season.
Schwarber’s shot into the Phillies’ bullpen off Marlins starter Johnny Cueto (1-4) broke open a five-run second inning....
PHILADELPHIA — Jacob Stallings hit a two-run home run, Jesús Sánchez also went deep and the Miami Marlins beat the Philadelphia Phillies 3-2 on Friday night to open a three-game series.
Bryan De La Cruz added a pair of hits for Miami, a half-game behind Arizona for the third and final wild-card spot in the National League. The Marlins have won seven of eight.
Trea Turner returned from a two-game absence on the paternity list to homer for the Phillies. Defending NL champion Philadelphia (77-63) is in first place in the wild-card race, two games in front of the Cubs (76-66) and four games clear...

ATLANTA (AP) — A judge on Friday denied Mark Meadows’ request to move his Georgia election subversion case to federal court, ruling that the Trump White House chief of staff must fight the charges in state court instead.
U.S. District Judge Steve Jones in Atlanta wrote in a 49-page ruling that Meadows “has not met even the ‘quite low’ threshold” to move his case to federal court, noting that the question was whether the actions at issue were related to his role as a federal official.
“The evidence adduced at the hearing establishes that the actions at the...

Anything goes on a day like this! The Moon in emotive Cancer begins by making a supportive sextile to enthusiastic Jupiter in Taurus at 7:38 am EDT, starting things off on a positive note. The Moon will go on to make two more sextiles, one to the Sun in Virgo and one to eclectic Uranus, also in Taurus, so maintaining an even balance of efficiency and originality will increase our chances of success. There’s nothing wrong with thinking outside of the box every so often.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A judge sentenced “That ’70s Show” show star Danny Masterson to 30 years to life in prison Thursday for raping two women, giving them some relief after they spoke in court about the decades of damage he inflicted.
“When you raped me, you stole from me,” said one woman who Masterson was convicted of raping in 2003. “That’s what rape is, a theft of the spirit.”
“You are pathetic, disturbed and completely violent,” she said. “The world is better off with you in prison.”
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Charlaine F. Olmedo handed down...
