FSU football transfer tracker: Keon Coleman opts out, will enter NFL Draft

In a month of one disappointment after another, FSU received more bad news Wednesday. Top receiver Keon Coleman announced via his Instagram account that he is opting out of his senior season and will enter the NFL Draft. He is one of numerous FSU players who will not be playing against Georgia in the Orange Bowl, Dec. 30, 4 p.m. (ESPN). Not only has it been a rough month for the Seminoles, it hasn’t exactly been a merry Christmas either. Quarterback Tate Rodemaker went public with his decision to enter the NCAA transfer portal on Christmas Day, leaving the Seminole with Brock Glenn as the starting...

Trump ballot ban appealed to US Supreme Court by Colorado Republican Party

By NICHOLAS RICCARDI (Associated Press) DENVER (AP) — The Colorado Republican Party on Wednesday appealed that state’s supreme court decision that found former President Donald Trump is ineligible for the presidency, the potential first step to a showdown at the nation’s highest court over the meaning of a 155-year-old constitutional provision that bans from office those who “engaged in insurrection.” The first impact of the appeal is to extend the stay of the 4-3 ruling from Colorado’s highest court, which put its decision on pause until Jan. 4, the day before the state’s primary ballots are...

Things to watch for in Sunday’s Miami Dolphins-Baltimore Ravens matchup

MIAMI GARDENS — Each Miami Dolphins game provides coach Mike McDaniel and his players an opportunity to break another glass ceiling. Last Sunday’s 22-20 victory over the Dallas Cowboys showed the Dolphins can defeat a team with a winning record. This Sunday’s big test is beating a quality opponent on the road, and the Dolphins (11-4) get that opportunity at 1 p,m. on Sunday at the Baltimore Ravens (12-3), a familiar opponent that the Dolphins are playing for the third year in a row.  In 2021, the Ravens won, 22-10, at Hard Rock Stadium. In 2022, Miami won, 42-38, by scoring 28 fourth-quarter...

New ‘Hard Knocks’ episode with Dolphins goes inside win over Cowboys, Christmas with team

Mike McDaniel really did instruct his Miami Dolphins players to tell media members, respectfully, to “F off” if any narrative other than focus on the Dallas Cowboys was brought up last week. The famous quote the Dolphins coach told reporters to start the week of preparation for the Cowboys was not just a made-up anecdote. Cameras of reality series “Hard Knocks” captured the moment he said it to players in a week he knew there was going to be considerable talk about Miami’s 0-3 record against winning teams entering last Sunday. Tuesday night’s sixth episode of “Hard Knocks” chronicling the Dolphins...

Prosecutors oppose Sen. Bob Menendez’s effort to delay May bribery trial until July

By LARRY NEUMEISTER (Associated Press) NEW YORK (AP) — Federal prosecutors on Tuesday urged a judge to reject U.S. Sen. Bob Menendez’s request to delay his bribery trial scheduled for next spring by two months, until July. The senator gave up his position as chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee after his September arrest. Prosecutors said the original May 6 trial date was appropriate and drew...
